Frances Taoran Sun has a decade of experience working in the field of international higher education and administration. She is the executive director of global and dean’s initiatives of the Columbian College of Arts & Sciences at the George Washington University, in charge of global programs, international partnerships and outreach. She is also the managing director of the Confucius Institute at the George Washington University, an educational program of GW, collaborated with Nanjing University of China and Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing, to deliver educational and outreach opportunities on Chinese language and culture to Washington, DC and the U.S. She also serves as a staff council on the GW China Initiatives Faculty committee. Prior to the positions at GW, she was the assistant manager of the World Bank, International Monetary Fund and International Financial Corporations branches to handle foreign financial services under the Bank-Fund Staff Federal Credit Union. She holds a B.S. in Decision Information Sciences from the University of Maryland and an M.S. in Finance from the Johns Hopkins University. She is also a member of DC Chamber of Commerce and the Public Diplomacy Alumni Association.
