Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum’s Fall Festival

Hanban Article

The Anacostia Community Museum celebrated its annual block-party event on Saturday, August 29.  With a true community vibe based on the exhibition, A Right to the City, participants enjoyed live performances on an outdoor stage and covered tent with dancefloor.  There were food trucks, art activities for the kids, costumed interpreters, a vendor’s marketplace and more. All-day activities representing the neighborhoods of Anacostia, Adams Morgan, Brookland, Southwest, Shaw, and Chinatown took place inside and outside of the museum. The GW Confucius Institute demonstrated traditional Chinese calligraphy and led a Chinese paper-cutting activity.
