The Power of the Pen: Arabic Calligraphy from East to West

On Friday, April 21st, the George Washington University will host a lecture with 3 famous artists who will discuss the art of calligraphy in their specific languages and provide a brief demonstration of Arabic, Chinese "Sini" and Spanish calligraphy. This event is co-sponsored by the GW Confucius Institute, Elliott School of International Affairs Middle East Studies Program, Arabic Language Program, Department of Classical & Near Eastern Languages and Civilization, The George Washington University Museum and The Textile Museum, GW Department of Religion, and The Reed Society for Sacred Arts
