GW Confucius Insititute is proud to be the only program in Washington, D.C., that provides non-credit bearing professional Chinese language education to students of all proficiency levels and offers exclusive, diverse special topics, such as Business Chinese and Chinese Watercolor Painting. Our Chinese language instructors are all native Chinese speakers and faculty members from prestigious Chinese universities with years of experience teaching Chinese language and culture abroad.

Fall Semester Updates

In adherence with GW's university-wide policies in response to COVID-19, all group classes and private instruction will be held online. Special tuition rates have been applied for this semester to accommodate these changes. Purchases of class materials from the GW Confucius Institute will also include free shipping.

Our evening group classes are practical, affordable and accommodating of the DC working professional's schedule. Our private instruction classes provide even more flexibility and personal customization, so students gain the attention and guidance they need to take their Chinese to the next level. Registration for group classes is closed for the fall 2020 semester, but private instruction registration is open year-round.
