Inclement Weather

During adverse weather or other emergencies, the GW Confucius Institute will close if the George Washington University closes. Please view the George Washington University Campus Advisories website or follow the GWU twitter account to get the most up-to-date information on emergency closings.

Classes which are cancelled due to poor weather will be rescheduled. If a student is unable to attend the rescheduled class session, he/she will not receive a refund nor will we schedule an alternative make-up session.

Group Course Absences

We do not offer make-up sessions for our group classes. However, students can schedule a 30 minute appointment to discuss any questions on course material with instructors during his/her regular office hours.

One-on-One Instruction

Students are required to give 24 hours notice for any cancellations. If 24 hour notice is not given, the missed session will not be rescheduled nor will a refund be issued.

All requests to reschedule a session must be received in writing via email to both the tutor and the GWCI office (molly_mroch@gwu.edu). Students can reschedule new sessions with at least 48 hours notice prior to the new meeting time. Rescheduling is dependent upon instructor or tutor availability, which cannot be guaranteed.

Class time will not be extended for students who arrive late without giving 24 hours prior notice. Refunds will not be issued for missed time. Missed time will not be added to future sessions.
