2019 Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

On September 12, 2019, the GW Confucius Institute hosted the much-anticipated 2019 Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration in partnership with The GW Institute for Korean Studies, GW Language Center, Sigur Center for Asian Studies, and GW Department of East Asian Language and Literatures.

This year’s Festival continues with the Institute’s over five-year tradition of hosting this exciting and enriching fall event. More than one hundred and thirty guests from GW and the greater DC community experienced traditional Mid-Autumn Festival customs, such as enjoying authentic Chinese music and sampling the iconic traditional Chinese festival mooncakes, learning more about the rich cultures of those who celebrate the holiday. Participants also acquired a greater understanding of the plentiful Asia-related resources on campus, including student organizations, Asia-focused Initiatives at GW, and other community-based programs.

Many thanks to our sponsors, guests, staff, and volunteers for making this event a great success. We look forward to next year’s Festival!
